With the amount of portraits we I been photographing at the studio lately, I should probably be posting some of our beautiful holiday card designs or our recent sessions in fall foliage. And I'll get to that... I promise... but with the wedding getting so much closer (two months from Sunday!) I have been scouring the internet late at night and early in the morning for great wedding details.
Being that the wedding is in February, I knew I had to get a fantastic jacket to go over my wedding dress. And it had to some something I was going to like being photographed in, because as a wedding photographer in the Northeast I have seen my share of winter brides remove their wedding jackets, shivering - lips purple all while saying "oh, no... I'm fine.. great! take (shiver) the (shiver) photo (shiver). Ok forget it. Can we go inside?" I always try to recommend that brides who are getting married between Nov-April in the Northeast to get a wrap or jacket they really love.
Taking my own advice, I found the perfect Marc Jacobs faux fur jacket on ebay of all places:
|

It came in this week and is just adorable. It also has this great fun Marc Jacobs blue interior fabric pattern - perfect for my something blue. It's currently hanging in the office closet marked by a 'do not enter' sign created specifically for John.
Next were the shoes. This was tough - if I was going to spend money on shoes, I knew that they needed to be extra special and I would have to be able to wear them again to justify the expense in my mind. So nothing white, or overly bridal-looking. They also needed to be closed-toed keeping in mind my desire to only purchase realistic winter bride attire (see above jacket).
I found the perfect silver pair at Gina London, even though the shoes are called Paris. Actually to be fair, Jess was the one who found them but I'm sure she won't mind me taking credit. |

And finally... last weekend John and I were walking around in Phildelphia and stopped by Forever Silver by Erwin Pearl. I found the perfect earrings - they are basically these but studs. There were a lot of selections there in pretty reasonable price ranges. |
I can't wait for you to see the rest of the ensemble like the dress, veil and other accessories but sadly it will need to wait just a few more months. Be sure to check back soon for an updated blog post of all the great families - new clients and old ones - that I have had the pleasure of photographing this fall.

Over the weekend I was showered with some amazing gifts and visits from friends near and far - I feel so fortunate and grateful to have such wonderful friends who worked hard to make this weekend so special.
Over Friday night and Saturday morning several people arrived in town including both Jessica Claire and Jen Dery who flew in from California. We had such a great time catching up, joking around and relaxing a lot. We had several days to catch up on all that we have been up to, and I was so excited to share my upcoming weddings plans. We also talked business (of course) and I made them test out some of my newest product updates for Strategy Avenue which are due to release in early December! I can't wait for them to release, I truly think that they will help people learn more about how to be professional photographers in a easy to understand way.
In order to get me out of the house on Sunday to prepare for the shower, Jen, Jess and I went to go photograph my very special employee's engagement session. |

and of course we had to play in some leaves |
I love this one because it's so "Becca" to me |
of course then was also plenty of goofing around during the shoot - here is a photo Jess took of me and Jen |
and then three of us (Jess is on the left and Jen is on the right) before heading to the shower |
Five of my eight beautiful bridesmaids Jen, Kristy, Me, Jamie, Tracy, and Jess (taken by Marie Labbancz) |
There were a lot of laughs and everyone seemed to have a great time. |
A huge thank you to Jess and Jen who flew cross country for this special time in my life, as well as to all the bridesmaids who worked so hard to bring everything together. I love you guys! |
