building update

The other day I thought to myself, "Why do I feel so busy?" Then I realized how much my schedule has changed in the last few weeks. First, I get up in the morning to scoot over to the studio at about seven. Then I go into the office at nine, and then run in between the two buildings throughout the day. If you want a little entertainment, you will most likely find me dragging color swatches, tape measures, floor samples and frame options down the little part of Delaware Avenue in Wilmington between 1905 and 1825.

But, you know, I wouldn't have it any other way. I love this stuff!

Here's a pic of the front stripped bare. Design forthcoming!

The front gallery. I finally decided upon dark chocolate gloss floors.

A little kitchenette will go here. Behind it is the bathroom.

The upstairs.

The production room, which Kat is in charge of!

Meeting area

VIP room

There is also a detached garage out back that I am transforming into a natural light studio ... more on that soon!

After years of posting the weddings of other lovely couples, this time it's John and I who are published. Check out our spread in the North American (US & Canada) Knot Magazine with photos by the amazing Anna Kuperberg and LaCour.

baby J

Lots of newborns lately - is there a baby boom in the mid-Atlantic right now? Loved this little guy's perfect eyes and the beautiful blue-colored wall in his bedroom.

new studio

After closing on the new building last Friday, I walked into 1825 Delaware Avenue to find it fully under construction. My contractor doesn't waste any time (and I love that about him)! Here are some photos ...

Julia + Matt's day after

Julia and Matt are a great couple who my husband and I are friends with. They were married in Las Vegas earlier this month. To take these images, they hiked up hills of snow, across cold fields, and darted through traffic. Now, that's commitment!

stay at home dads

Last week, a former wedding-now-portrait couple, Michelle and Spencer, were on The Today Show>. The segment discussed their role reversal since Spencer was laid off from Lehman Brothers.

Here is a fun screen shot where you can see my images in the background of the segment!

What do you think? Women: would you like to work full time and have your husband stay at home? How about the men out there?
